About Us
We are ordinary people in the Foxton and Beach community who roll up our sleeves to help with the needs of those around us.
When we raise funds, the full proceeds go to the cause as Lions Clubs do not incur administration costs. This makes us distinctly different from other charities and fund raisers.
We run our annual Footprints in the Sand Fun Run on Foxton Beach, in March each year.
- 5km, 10km and 1/2 marathon distances
- Primary School Team Challenge
- Start/ Finish line on the beach in front of the Surf Club Building
- Run/ walk north on the hard-packed sand to your turnaround refreshment station
- Check-in and collect wrist band from 6:30am
- Prizegiving with lots of spot prizes held by 11am or when last entrant finishes
- Every finisher receives a medal
On the Day
6:30am Registrations open
7:00am ½ Marathon Walk starts
8:00am ½ Marathon Run starts
8:30am 10Km Run and Walk
9:00am 5k Run / walk followed by the Primary School Challenge
11:00am Prizegiving or when last participant finishes
Please note: Due to tide constraints all participants to be finished by 11am.
